I was in my 3rd year at the Instituo Mediteraneao de la Moda in Tarragone, Spain. For the end-of-the-academic-year fashion show, my classmates and myself were asked to create five models.

I didn’t know what I wanted to create. However, I intended to reassure myself by thinking about all the good things Pablo Picasso used to say : “If I knew what I would do, how would you me to do it ? Not already knowing allows me to better release my spontaneity”.
I
I don’t know why, but suddenly the picture of the Eiffel Tower came up to my mind. Was it because I was missing Paris ? I don’t know but for sure That was the starting point, the Idea. Once the inspiration came, my sensibility was lead by my nostalgia, the memories resurfaced.
I
Indeed, I chose the so-called Grande Dame (the “Big Lady) as my main source of inspiration for creation. I saw her, standing bolt upright elegantly, crossing her legs as if she was walking on a podium. Then the idea was materialized by a first cutting.
I
The searching for my creation balance was progressing from a point to another, with my way of thinking situated between the sense of innate and experience.
I
The choice of the colour was simple and natural : the raw material used by Gustave Eiffel invited me to use carmine. I needed this rusty red, a kind of mat red, lightly bloody but not a bright red.
I
Thus, my first cloth, The Grande Dame, was created from the vision of the Eiffel Tower defiling. The shapes, the legs, the walk and the raw material of this Parisian monument brought me the inspiration for my very first creation.
